Regional and Sex Differences in the Prevalence and Correlates of Early Sexual Initiation Among Adolescents Aged 12 - 15 Years in 50 Countries

This study provides sex-specific estimates for early sexual initiation among adolescents in accordance with country, WHO regions, and the World Bank country income groups. Findings will help shaping strategies for reducing early sexual initiation and subsequently other risky sexual behaviors among adolescents from different regions.

Parent-adolescent relationships and their associations with adolescent suicidal behaviours: Secondary analysis of data from 52 countries using the Global School-based Health Survey

Despite the potential benefits of parents-adolescent relationships on suicidal behaviours among adolescents, research on these topics are importantly limited by lack of comprehensiveness, difficulties in cross-country comparisons, and limited generalisability, among others. We aimed to estimate the prevalence of various aspects of parents-adolescent relationships and suicidal behaviours by sex and region, and toinvestigate their associations.

Managing SARS-CoV-2 outbreak challenges in psychiatric hospitals of Bangladesh

The novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was first detected in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. Since then, due to its high basic reproduction number, it has rapidly spread worldwide, reaching the status of the pandemic on March 12th, 2020, as declared by the WHO [1]. However, in Bangladesh, officially first case of SARS-CoV-2 was detected on 8th March 2020. Until 9th July 2020 the number of cases reached to 175,494, which made Bangladesh one of twenty most infected countries [2].

Situational analysis of Forensic Mental Health in Bangladesh

Forensic Mental Health in Bangladesh is an unattended domain of mental health services. With about 17% of the population suffering from mental disorders per year and more than 80 thousand prisoners in the country, there have not been any studies to look into forensic mental health situations. This research has given an overview of the health and legal systems through qualitative research focusing on a desk review and key informant interviews.
